Engine Flooded on 2008 Challanger SE 180 help

I was out at jobbie nooner and there were some monster waves. When i went to take off to head back in 4 monster waves came into the front of the boat and basically flooded my whole cabin and engine compartment. Its been 4 days now and i thought i could let it try out but its still not starting. I took the spark plugs out (or so i believe it was them, 3 under the cap ontop the engine) and tried starting it like i have read but it still does not start. It makes a clicking sound sometimes almost like a grinding noise but will not start off. Inside of the spark plugs if i took the right things off which i think i did i did see signs of wetness along with lube stuff kinda white? Im lost for words as i was hoping i could fix this my self without taking it to the shop as it is super far away and im sure it will be expensive. Any ideas on how much it will cost to fix this? Btw i also had to get towed back in and im not sure if that messed anythign else up. All the help will greatly be appreciated thanks!

To be honest with you....if your not sure where your spark plugs are then I think this is something you should get a mechanic to check out. It's possible you hydro-locked your engine so don't even try to turn it over unless your 100% sure you got all water out otherwise you can do some serious engine damage. Cost is impossible to estimate since there is no clue to the extent of all damages you my have.

Good luck

I have an 05 C180 and if you pull the black caps off your plugs you still need to stick a socket down the hole with an extension and take the plugs out. otherwise i would agree with thor, hydro-locking is no joke and repairs on these boats aren't cheap so be careful. Hopefully you killed the engine when it flooded, if so it would have lessend the chances of it being hydro-lock, if not and you somehow sucked water in your intake then that could be big problems.

Get you float into a shop as soon as possible to get it checked out. If you have got water in you engine it is imperative that you remove it at once. It will do damage.
