Engine conversion

Hey everyone. I'm thinking of a fun project to do if I cannot get my engine fixed.
I was thinking of swapping out the engine and replacing it with a commercial Honda gx 360
They are great engines and people use them for small boat motors all over the world.

I'm wondering if it has enough power to get the seadoo up on a plane, I know it wont rip like a seadoo engine but if there's a chance it will still scoot along pretty quick I want to do it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated:)
Thanks

Anything is possible but no.

The GX 360 is only 13 horsepower so it really isn't going to do much other than put around.

For comparison the smallest engine seadoo ever used was a 580 cc at 55 HP.

Thanks, that makes sense,
What about some kind of gear configuration? Big sprocket on the engine shaft and small on the prop shaft, they also make 20 hp small engines. Just was thinking of a reliable pullstart engine, I guess there's also the issue of cooling. :)
Thanks

HP = RPM
RPM=SPEED

Gearing down to make a 20hp engine work as well as a stock 717 will be a 4:1 gear ratio (actually more, but meh)

so, turn your 20 horse gutless wonder at 6000 rpm will turn the impeller at 1500 rpm, or basically idle wake speed.

Yehaw, send it.

Thank you :)
