dry spark plug xp wont start

Hi, I recently rebuilt the carbs on my XP 94, but it won't start. I can see the first spark plug has fuel, but the second one is completely dry. I'm draining the battery trying to start. Does anyone know what's going on?

no, i didn't check compression, i bought it 3 weeks ago, it only worked one time and i can't make it start.

if you do not have a compression tester a very basic way to test is put your finger over the spark plug hole and run the starter....the pressure should almost blow your finger off the hole.

....if you have a tester , someone else will need to help out here, but i believe the 94 engine should be ok still around 130psi.....and both cylinders should be within 5 psi or so.....after you test compression squirt some mixed fuel directly into the spark plug hole, replace plugs and try cranking. if it fires up for a couple seconds you have a fuel delivery issue.(bad fuel, bad fuel filter, bad fuel selector, bad fuel lines, bad carbueter, bad fuel pump.). those are your options.....have fun

Since you didn't replace the gaskets and stuff on the carb when you took it a part I would do a pressure test to verify it is still good. I personally would redo it with a OEM rebuild kit.

Can you describe what it is doing...and not starting. Is is cranking over but not running, Does it just click....

Things you can do that are free/cheap. load test the battery, rent a free compression tester from autoparts store and do compression check, Voltage checks at solenoid and starter. check for spark, inspect all your grounds and verify tight and not corroded. verify all fuses are good

Word of advise, don't throw parts at it, it usually just confuses the problem. if part is electronic or has a seal buy OEM where possible, aftermarket parts are not very good. I would also download the parts manual and maintenance manual, free online, and do all the periodic maintenance items, to rules those out and since you don't know their condition..ie filters, and lubes.

Do as much as you can and let us know the results, someone on here has been through it and can give you advise!

i'm looking for the carb kit because if i want a goodone i have to bring it from USA, and i 'm from Argentina (There are only Chinese kits here). Is not fuel in the second spark plug hole, is cranking over but not running.
-the sparks are ok
-tried putting the fuel directly from other tank, disconnecting the fuel selector.
-i used jumper cables whit my car, for the batery
-the starter works
i think that it might be the diaphragm of the second carb that is not pumping fuel. How can i know if the diaphragm is broken?

well, we figured out, it was the diaphragm. we rotate it and started, i'll buy a new one. I have another problem now, there is no fuel in the return hose and sometimes beeing out whater it accelerates by itself . When we took apart the carburetor, we blew through the fuel inlet and the outlet was blocked, so we checked to see if it was clean, and it was. I want to know if there is a pressure valve that should withstand some fuel pressure.

Only place I get carb rebuild kits is from osdparts.com get them back to OEM kits. there is only one fuel pump. I see your boostingfrom the car, make sure the car is not running or you will damage the electrical. Follow Mikidymac’s carb rebuild thread, you can find it on his profile

Don't boost it with a car at all, you can damage the MPEM, ie brain of the ski. Use a low amperage battery tender if you need too, or take it out of the ski.
Glad you found the culprit, I would use the OEM kit.
