Drove my first sea doo today!

First off what a blast. However I have one small issue. My 89 sea doo 580 yellow idles kinda fast when not even on the throttle. At idle the ski still moves forward kinda quickly. Is this how its supposed to be? Otherwise the ski seems pretty fast and fun! Although today was pretty cold here in wisconsin. :hurray:

One other thing. I mixed the gas 40:1 was well as filling the oil tank. It smokes alot when out of the water this way. Is it safe to assume that my oil injection system is working well? This would not cause my high idle would it? Thanks again.

no...adjust the idle screw.

Should I adjust it while running in the water or what? How do I know when it is good? Can I hook up a tacH on one of the wires or something?
