I have 1998 Seadoo Challenger 1800. I have replace the drive shaft on one of the engines twice and it keeps getting stripped only going out 1 time? Do you think that means the PTO needs to be replaced and where do you get one from?

Probably bad PTO. Are the rubber bumper stops in the ends of the shaft.

Has the engine ever been replaced? If so has the engine been aligned side to side and front to back? If the previous shafts stripped there is a good chance the PTO is shot. To remove it you will need to remove the PTO spark plug and turn it over counter clockwise until it hits top dead center, then go back the way you came about 1/4 turn and then put as much clothesline in there as you can get in there. Then SLOWLY bring it back to TDC (CCW) and the piston will jam into the rope, then with a PTO removal tool or a pipe wrench apply hard steady pressure and the PTO should break loose. I use a 3' cheater pipe on my breaker bar. The PTO for a 787 is very common. Minnetonka4me probably has some in good condition for sale. He can also set you up with the rubber bumpers. Look over this drawing and make a list. He can get you a one stop shop. #12 are the bump stops

Yup I def have them in stock. You should replace the driveshaft too been there done that on a jetboat with a cheap customer...lol

Alignment is key, but grease in the PTO will usually keep that end from stripping. The end going into the prop is a true indicator of misalignment as it just gets a little grease when the pump is off.
