Has anyone come up with a good way (sans bilge) to drain the water from the engine compartment after a spray down? I have a 2004 GTX-SC. I have two on tandem trailer. With one you can simply lift the trailer tongue and let drain but with two on a tandem trailer the tongue weight is too much to lift.

I'm thinking there's got to be a way to install a manual bilge and just leave the tube quick connect at top of engine compartment and after a spray down hook up to manual device.

I currently have about 10 feet of tube and have been siphoning out the water but no very efficiently and big PITA!

Thanks,
Rob

Buy a tongue jack (~$20) and put it on the trailer. It saves your back even when you are just hooking up to the truck. Also, makes moving the trailer around alot easier. It is the only way to get all the water out of your hull. Plus this flushes things out that a bilge pump will not pickup.

My tandem trailer has a tongue jack on it (don't all trailers?)... My issue is it only gets 23" of height fully extended. I would need around 48" to get the ski's elevated high enough to fully drain the water.

My trailer didn't come with one, but I bought one real quick with my back the way it is.

One thing that I did at my old house ( also due to my back) was rig a pully system under my boat shed to the rafters. I used the pully to pull the front end up to drain the water. With a tandem, you may have to implement a handwinch along with it.
