I just put the engine back into boat
Hook up all the cables...
1 positive to the starter and 2 negative (ground) together to the starter body...
engine cranks and runs very good...
But i have noticed the battery got weaker from 12v to 7v this morning....
did I install the cables wrong?
Thanks.

Sounds like the regulator has gone bad. When they give up... sometimes they will not "Shut off". Basically, an internal diode gives out, and when the engine is off... it drains back.

FYI... DO NOT try to start the boat with a charger hooked up. It's known to roast the MPEM. Boat MPEM's are getting very hard to find.

Good! I will check into that...
i noticed tonight the cables are hot...
i’m not sure if i did hook up right!
Positive on the starter and 2 negatives together at the same screw on the starter’s body... maybe I will try a diferent location..
