dragging starter

Whats the easiest way to get to the starter and battery terminals at the starter. The starter on the port engine drags and won't spin free enough to turn the engine over. The starboard starter turns over easy. I want to get closer to the starter and check for a bad connection, clean the terminals etc and see if it'll turn over. Any help will be greatly appreciated..

I've gotten to the starter on a PWC without much difficulty. I would think a boat would be easier with more room. Just be sure you have the right size wrenches and know where the bolts are you are needing to get to.
