im new with seadoos just bought 2 of them a 98 and 99 GTX. ive only had them out 2 times. the first time the 99 ran bad and the people i had bought them from had the carbs rebuilt.the 98 had a 12 volt low on info gage and with a new battery installed. i did a quick charge and the gas gage indicated no fuel after i gassed up.it was working fine before .it ran fine all the time i used it.***************** the second time i had them out the 98, still with no fuel level had the 12 volt low. this time i did not do a quick charge but had 12.7 volts with a volt meter and figured it was enough. it ran fine but started beeping at 2 sec every min or so. the 99 did fine except for at key installation (maint) as on the info gage with led flashing and went away after a few seconds. is that a problem because of the carb rebuild or a service reminder. any help would be great dang

Not sure about the system needing cleared because of rebuilt carbs....next time, check volts when motor is running...think'n a rectifier problem, and post the reading... meantime, sounds lame, but double check all the connections and, the ends of the (+/-) wires. If copper looks smokt, replace the line/s.

thanks for the replay i did start it up and checked it at idle (1300 rpm) and it did go up to 12.8 im going to put in the water this weekend an see if itll go any higher. and maybe swap the rectifer with the other one if its the same and i didnt find any bad wire or ends. thanks again

If the one seadoo says "MAINT", hit the "set" button it might just be a reminder of a maintenance due at this time hitting the set button would shut it off. If it still comes on it might have a trouble code that the dealer will have to diagnose and reset when finished. Count the beeps when you see "MAINT" in the info center. Then we can give you an idea of what the code could be. With the problem of the 12 volts it might be a bad battery. Have the battery checked at like Auto Zone. Have it load tested. Even a battery with a bad cell or 2 will show 12 volts. Under load it might only have 10 volts. I would check the wires that timmyboy76 suggested as it could also be a bad connection on the wiring. Keep us posted and let us know how you'ar making out.

thanks for the tip on the set button it cleared the maint item. but some times i notice the beeper want work like now. and ill take the battery and have it tested before i leave for the lake thanks again

hey guys i think the 12 volt low finally went away. i just started cleaning the connection and its has not reappeared yet.( but i still have the beeping), and no fuel level. i took the sender out and found that the two magnets on the float had the plating flaking off . is this a common problem to show no fuel level.and cleaning the connectors has cured the beeps for dess identification and thanks again for the tips, i did have the battery checked out and was fine as well as the voltage when running was 14.5

i finally found the reason for the beeping,i had jumped the two leads coming to the sending unit and it would indicate full on the gage* and the beeping stoped. i thought of doing that, but i thought it might damage the gage or another component. untill i read another post on fuel indication problems thanks again and what a great forum and people
