the 2 reasons are...they sieze up over the winter if they have water in them. and if you need to rebuild pump because of water or wear ring-impeller damage, you have all winter to shop for parts or a spare pump.

Good point

I have a new to me 97 Speedster that is my winter project - best time to work on these beasts and find the good deals on parts.

On a side not - I wanted to PM you my contact info for your friend who is parting out the 97 Speedster but your PM box is full.
Could you please send their contact info to me or give them mine:

Parting out and used parts......

Compare...........make sure, when you see these types of deals, you shop around for the true value of the part before you commit to buying the part online, either through ebay or a user in the "buy/sale/trade" section of the forum.

So many times, I've run across the need to replace a part on my 1997 Challenger, just to find the person selling the parts, from a parted out craft, actually wanted more or as much for a part that is brand new!.........

So, do your homework before commiting to any deals....

YES - YES - and YES - you said it - I am always amazed at how people want new street/web prices for used. I always start with 1/2 price for anything used and go from there.
