1999 GTX that's bogging out at half throttle, Called to get some prices

Carb Rebuild $100 per carb labor plus $40 per rebuild kit

Fuel Tank cleaning/filter $60

Do these prices sound okay?
First place I called wanted $100 just for a carb cleaning

Where in Florida are you? Was it a local shop that gave you those prices?

It was a shop in Cape Coral

I called two, The first one wanted $100 just for a carb cleaning didn't really have much to say and wasn't very helpful. The second guy (that quoted me the $100 for rebuild) talked to me for about 45 minutes and was very helpful. He said he would like to clean the tank and lines out first before I spend the money for a carb build to fix the issues

i'd say it sounds more or less reasonable, i've only gotten 1 quote, and it's from a small mom and pop shop, and it was 75 for carb rebuild, not including the kit for 40 more

PM me... I have a guy I recommend highly... he does all my work that I can't do myself, and lives in Lehigh, retired SD mechanic, knows two strokes very very well, and he won't fk ya over... ,, I live in the cape myself....

drop the ski off and let him do everything, I think you'll be pleased with the price/quality :) and he'll check everything out as well,

as far as tank cleaning,,, i'm of two minds about it,, really just depends on how the tank looks now...

and ps.. we ride every weekend, from the peace river , the franklin locks, rosin park, the yacht club, punta rassa, and lovers key, the only area's we really don't ride often are Pine Island and Lake Saratoga... so if your looking for some peeps to ride with... we're here :) we have 4 two strokes in our ride group that are all good guys and have decently fast ski's, and a few guys with 4 strokes, but honestly its usually the same 4 guys on two strokes every weekend... :)

the shop in the cape that's in NW near kismet i've heard mixed bags about, but more good stories than bad if that helps,,, there is really only one shop in Lee County (not counting sunsports) that i'd never ever go back to but that's down in Bonita....

I attempted to send you a PM but it says your box is full

Thanks for your reply,

I actually live in Naples, I work in Bonita Springs

My mom lives in Alva (That's where my seadoo is now) and we rode this past weekend at the franklin locks. Had a great time

I just bought the Seadoo Saturday, It's my first one. She bought a set of yamaha's and we both need some work done. The first place I called was Roc powersports, They were not helpful

Second place I called was cape coral jetski repair (http://capecoraljetskirepair.com/) the guy was really nice and helpful. It's out of my way but it is the only two places I really heard about

I took the Seadoo out on Sunday and when I first started it, it would run fine but if I gave it more than 1/4 throttle it would bog down and die out. After about 5 minutes of riding at a steady speed it would be good to go and it ran like a top so I'm assuming it's a dirty carb/fuel issue. I need my reverse gate & support bracket replaced as well

Just looking for someone that is not going to D me over and will take the time to let me know what I need to take care of.

pm received, replying now with details.

I wouldn't recommend this guy unless I felt good about him, if he D's you then it hurts my reputation as well :)
