Disable DESS

When Disabling DESS, what does it do? The software says it eliminates all keys.

Is the lanyard still required to run the boat?

Will any lanyard DESS key work?

my 2006 Sportster has issues with the keys. The two original keys were reprogrammed with the CanDoo and one works great but has contact issues with the boat and the CanDoo (when testing the key)

Bought two new keys with my CanDoo and still have contact issues with the boat and the CanDoo, likely eliminating the possibility of being a DESS post problem in the boat.

It shuts down the boat in the middle of the lake and sometimes reduces the power to a limp mode.

I would like to disable DESS for diagnostic purposes and try to pinpoint the issue.

Ended up replacing the DESS post. First test was positive (without issues) will continue testing.
