different types of spark plugs.. help.

what are the different types of spark plugs that work with a seadoo speedster 1996 ? i had my mechanic suggest to run " hotter " spark plugs for higher altitude. now im just curious what are the different plugs i can use , gapping , and what plugs help with what conditions , or should NOT be used in certain conditions.

Generally the standard plug is the best. Going one step hotter, or colder is ok... but I wouldn't stray away too far from an #8.
