Lots of good comments on my trip from Houston to Destin / Panama City Beach. Boat handle like a dream and got a chance to test all my mods.....
The Lowrance Elite 7 HDI turned out great!
My small family (3) .....cruised, snorkeled, fished, watched dolphin, jumped waves and enjoyed the beaches!

Nice pics. Water is super clear. In PA... you are lucky to see more than a foot into the water.

Anyway... where did you mount that monster chartploter?

You could see bottom at over 20'......I dove down at 14' and looked at live sand dollars......
Here is my ram mount...I copied a bass boat ram mounted install.04-03-2012 014.jpg

I bought it's little brother (Mark4) and I haven't put it on yet... because I didn't have a good spot. I was looking at the RAM mounts.

Wow! thanks for sharing your pictures!

Awesome, I love it, the water is unbelievably beautiful, I really like the 2012's and the wake tower.

Also I just googled mapped your journey.. how nice, how long did it take you? Also much gas did it take you?

For anyone else interested in seeing his journey, here is a link of it:
link from Destin to Panama City Beach Florida

And while we are at it, here is what the 5" little brother GPS/Fishfinder on a Speedster 150 looks like ...

Actually we didn't travel from Destin to Panama City Beach by water ( it could easily be done though) I put in at Joes Bayou in Destin and St. Andrew State Park in Panama City Beach ... the expanded version of the map shows the two locations we boated in Magenta color. The triangle shows my camp site I stayed for two weeks. We where on the water a total 8 hours and I only use a 1/3 tank of fuel...(LOL.... I wish I'd boated more)....did not have to go very far!
Look up Crab Island (Destin) and or Shell Island (PCB) on You Tube

yea I miss living there, the water is super clear and I always had a great time chillin at shell island and crab island.

How funny! oops..

so nice...we just came back from Destin ourselves...Im from Dallas area. I stayed at an RV Resort and was taking my Challenger but at the last minute I decided to call to see where I could leave my boat and no good luck, so we left it. Big disappointment.

Next time you go try Top Sail Hill RV Park ....cabins also. (Florida State Park...rated in Top 10 in the country)). They have a parking lot for boats in the front and they let you keep up to 2 vehicles at your site if you have room.2013 Vacation 004.jpg2013 Vacation 006.jpg009.JPG

Nice pics of the super clear water.

Question about the towers: I have a I/O with a "convertible" top and it shades the sun pretty good. with the high tower like you have, does it block the sun if the sun isn't directly overhead? Or is the Bimini top basically for looks?
Thanks...

My wife (pale rider) would not get on the boat if the top didn't work...lol. This was my first time to use it. When we were parked fishing I put up a couple towels to block out more sun from the sides for her.
On another note ....I replaced the cheap front strap hooks with solid ones....top up worked out great to 55 mph on the road....no problem!

During prime times up to 11 months in advance. It's that nice though.
FYI ... The better sites are away from the front.
