My DESS key for my 97 challenger decayed over the years. Last evening, the chip on back, or brain, fell off due to corrosion of the tiny little wires. Was able to find the chip and solder it back on, am now encasing the back in epoxy. Yes, it was a challenge, but from my understanding a new DESS may be a bigger challenge as it needs to be reprogramed. Don't throw away that non-working DESS key, perhaps it may be fixed.
