Depth finder

Have a 2008 230 challenger. Not sure how to use the depth finder. I hit them up and down arrows and their numbers change. Anyone know how to use it or even see if it works?

you have a manual for it? i suggest reading that because if you dont and you end up trusting what the finder tells you, you might end up in a bad situation (like not enough water or causing damage, or hitting something hard and fast and getting someone hurt)

If that does not work let me know if you at least have an idea of the make and model of the unit and I might be able to help you out, I have a little bit of a connection on stuff like that. That goes for everyone else as well...

I have a 2012 180 SP. First time I took it out, I couldn't even find the depth finder on the display (because there is no mention of it in my manual). The second time I found it by toggling thru, only to find out it doesn't work so well. A lot of times it just displayed dashes, and more than not, it would say 3 ft of water when a boat much larger than mine would pass through the same area that couldn't handle traveling in 3 ft of water. It would sparadically jump from 400 to 100 to 300 in miliseconds. Not sure I trust it at all. Another call to the dealership.
