My RXP doesnt have a depth finder however on the display it does have the little box there to display the depth. I researched it some and found that a lot of the RXP's do display the depth. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a good one and whats envolved in the installation of it. I figured if the ski was designed to have one then it should be fairly easy.

Same here, I am not sure either.

Nov 2007 RXP. I looked at the back of the cluster, but only saw the plug with the wires in, and what looks like a pressure intake valve or something like, but this has nothing connected to it.

I read on the SeaDoo web site you can u/grade them, and.. the GPS.

Anyone got a clue.. is it something to do with the pipe at the rear of the cluster?

Richie.

Talk to your local seadoo dealer. I talked to the one here locally and they told me it is an add on option. The guage is equipped for it, but it has to be installed in the seadoo.

ok

i didnt even look for a spot where it might be installed but from what i remember that sounds right. i'm assuming my 06 has the same set up but i dot recal seeing that spot. either way i'm sure from seadoo its ging to be a pretty penny. i bet you could do the install yourself though. it seems like everythings there except the actual depth finder and it seems like it should just be plug and play. either way i cant really call up or stroll up into a seadoo store which i'd prefer to do so if you do call or check it out please ask about mine as well. it should be the same from what i'm told there basically the same ski but a different color but please just let them know ones an 06. i def want to get mine done.

Hawkeye Depth Gage

Do a Google search using Hawkeye Depth Gage and you will find it many places. It sells for $99 and has a little remote head that shows the depth. Two wires to the battery is all the wiring needed. The other parts just plug into the main unit. I found one on Ebay - brand new for $60.:hurray:

In trying to find some info on a depth finder, I ran across this thread. I have a 2008 GTX. I was quoted a price of $300+ for the optional add-on depth finder for my SeaDoo. The instrument cluster is already equipped for it so it should be an easy install. I don't see a place where I could mount one of the Hawkeye units. There has to be another solution that doesn't cost $300+

I use my $30.00 walmart cane if the water is to deep for me to touch the bottom than I know that I am not to shalow to run my boat. just kiding I would allso like to install a depth finder but I have not got around to it yet.

i just bought a 2008 gtx, too. would really like to add a depth finder without having to be gouged by a dealer. any advice would be appreicated!

hey! cool! it at least looks like you can order the OEM part(s) somewhere other than a dealer, even if it's really pricey. thanks for the information!

i sent a note to the company; i got a concise email from Steve Campisano in return: Contact Local Dealer.

That was it. I had asked about if the depth finder connected into the existing dash electronics, etc.

If they aren't allowed to talk about it, fine, but I have to say that the response I got didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about them :(
