I would like to have a depth finder on my boat. I do not fish so finding them is irrelevant to me. I would just like a simple understand of the water depth below me.

Any suggestions on type make model and install location would be great

I use Lowrance HOOK2 4X it is a fish finder with a depth finder and GPS ,very simple. you don't have to bore hole in the hull.
