Dangling MPEM

I went into my engine compartment today and the MPEM was dangling... It appears the brass screw that goes into the back is stripped. . I opened up the box and expected to see a nut but the screw apparantly goes into the plastic and there is a piece of metal (the mounting for the components) covering the area in question...

Before I start removing this plate, if it possible, is there something I can do.....

A longer screw?

Can a nut be put on the screw or does the screw go into the plastic and is unaccessable.

Can I use some type of epoxy

Has anybody fixed this problem or offer a fix.

After looking at it again I noticed the plastic was cracked... I filled it up with high strength epoxy and stuck the big brass screw into it ( it held a little) and clamped everything together. Took it out to the lake last weekend and it held up.... There was no chop so I don't know how it will handle airborne flights and the resulting hard landings.... But it working so far. This empty box is an expensive little thing, more so with components... Hopefully it stays together for a couple of years.
