Hi,

I have foolishly managed to cut too deep into my wear ring and damaged the jet pump.

Is this a major problem and what can I do to repair this if I need to?

I have attached an image of the damage, any advise appreciated.

Many thanks

Andy

My unprofessional opinion is that that won't cause you any big issues. Could always fill it with plastic cement or something, but won't the wear ring cover it anyway?

I would clean the white powder up really good and call it a day. That blade mark is nothing, I wouldn't waste my time filling it.

Concur. No harm done. Clean it and go. If you need to replace it again in the future cut it in a different location to limit any further issues.

I agree with the comments above regarding the mark you made on the housing. However you might want to look into that impeller. I had one once that had the same dings and wear yours has that caused me all kinds of headaches, even though everybody told me it was no biggie. Changing it out made a huge difference.

Thanks for the advise I shall not worry about it.

This boat has been stood for around 10 years so I'm sorting it all out, the white on the inside needs cleaning badly as the corrosion is so bad it had crushed the wear ring and was stopping the engines from turning over.

Also the impellers are being scrapped too as they are not in great shape, I have ordered 2 solus replacements.

Many thanks

Andy

Its fine like everyone else said. I would go get a new impeller also that one is kind of beat up..
