Hello Forum Members,

This past weekend I took my Speedster 200 370hp out to the lake. While ridding with 6 passengers 4 on the rear seat, none on the front. Ten minutes into the ride I suddenly smelled something that resembled burned rubber. I stopped and turned the boat off and then back on. Without any problems or warning lights, I cruised to a nearby cove. I opened the engine hatch and was unable to see anything unusual. I could not smell anything that resembled the earlier smell of burned rubber. We carried on with our day without any problems. I was able to do 54mph on my GPS with the 6 passengers. I checked it yesterday at home and could not find any burn hoses or anything unusual. Oil level is fine. Coolant is fine. I did re-arrange the seating, I put a passenger on the front bow seat. Not sure if that helped. Should I be concerned?

Thanks,
Ed

Passenger orientation makes no difference. Were the engine tell-tale pisser tubes expelling water? Always confirm those each time at startup.

There may have been a temporary cooling water starvation, this can caused by the simplest of things such as a bees
nest in the water tell-tale hull fitting to considerably more complex.

Make sure to check and confirm the antifreeze coolant tanks are not low of fluid.

Maybe a skunk was nearby, I came to work one morning after a skunk close-encounter and someone asked if my house had burned down or if I'd been burning leaves.
