I am sure if you could, folks would already have grabbed a Outboard Power head and swapped it out with the blown 240efi.
Anyone know whet the difference is between the poser heads of a 240 sportjet, and a 225 EFI outboard?

there are so many speedsters and challengers in my area for sale without power, it is crazy.
thanks
Chris

I don't know the difference, but I should have did my homework. If I had known about this site and all the trouble people are having with the 240 efi I would have never bought this boat. Has not ran right from day 1. The problem with mine is that it will not re-start once it gets hot, let her cool and it will fire right up. I took a test drive with the previous owner and it ran fine, and it does run good until you try to re-start it. I feel like an idiot that I got scammed so bad. I would be happy to post the previous owner name, number and the business he owns in New Orleans.

Mine ha done that for a while too.

i actually adjusted the Steering Bump to add even more RPM'. That is the only way mine starts hot.
I have replaced everything this site has suggested, but it still seems to run rich. I also bumped the TPS up to .3, that seemed to let her start easier.

Please explain how to adjust the steering bump. I have read that turning the steering wheel all the way to one side or the other, but didn't know it could be adjusted. I ordered the TPS test harness and it should be here Friday. Maybe I can bump my TPS up also. If it works for you maybe it will work for me. I will try about anything at this point.

The crankshaft splines are different on a standard outboard. If you can swap the crank then everything else will work.

DING DING DING...... Give that man a prize.

Sorry... I was gone yesterday... but he has it right. The only thing different is the splines in the crank. I'm not sure why they decided to change just that. If it was the same, our lives would be SO much easier to find replacement engines.

Now... What I'm waiting for is a modern 4-stroke from Merc than will bolt down to our sportjet pumps. (or for someone to make an adaptor)
