crc spray

I have been using my utopia mostly in salt water and have been good about washing it everytime. I have also been spraying the metal parts (gates,engine,impeller ect) with crc spray from West Marine. This week I left my boat in the lake for a few days and noticed the spray formed a film over the gates ect. Is this normal? Am I using the right product? Anyone else experience this problem

I use the Bombairder Spray lube and I also pull the plugs after and spay into spark plug holes and turn it over a few time then reinstall plugs. Looking at the plugs after will also give you a idea how rich or lean its running.

I get no film from it.
