So my '97 has an oil fill plug on the 787 motor counterbalance, what actually goes in there to service it for lubricant or does it all just run out and end up with the fuel/oil mix in the crankcase when the motor is started?

Trying to figure out if that's just a one time fill for putting a new motor in service or? It looks like there's no seal on the parts schematics to actually keep the oil in there when it's running.

30wt. motor oil, the only time, according to the service manual, it needs to be serviced is if the boat is submerged.

Thanks Lou! Is it just my interpretation of the schematic being off base or does that actually not have a seal to keep it in there? Or in other words the adjoining cylinder (and Rave valve?) is going to be getting a dose of 30W motor oil to burn off?

I'm a complete newb to Rotax motors / related systems and just trying to learn as much as I can and not make mistakes along the way. I got pretty lucky and found a pristine condition Challenger aside from needing some help on the pump and want to do as much as I can to keep it that way.
