Correct MPEM?

Okay, pulled my MPEM today, put fuse in, hooked it up to auxillary battery (sea doo battery) and 5 amp fuse blew. I know it is the mpem that is faulty. Here is my delimna.

2001 GS

The number on the faulty mpem is 278000930. Everything I have read says the mpem is a 278001496 that goes with the 2001 GS.
Anyone have any ideas as to the correct MPEM? Would like to order one but would like to know the right one.

you need that #. It'll work with any GS, from 99-01, but you can use any mpem from pretty much any ski, that has the 717 motor.
