Correct carb hose routing?

I'm guilty of tearing down my old project Seadoo, letting it sit all winter, and now forget exactly how some of the reassembly is done. The 97 GSI has a single carb and has three outlets for hoses opposite the linkage side. I have figured out that two are the feed from the fuel tank and a return but the third has me puzzled. The hose is a short 4" hose bent into an L shape and appears to run from the small port on the lower part of the carb to a port on the left rear of the engine. See pic. Assuming this is where it goes, what does this hose do? Also, any tips on which two from the fuel tank go up or down on the carb appreciated.

That's your pulse line from the engine casing to the fuel pump on the carb. That is what pulses and causes the pump to operate. I use metal clamps on that line. The pulse line is at the very top of the carb when it is installed.
Not sure what ski you have but on a single carb usually the top line rear is the return, the one beneath it is the fuel inlet.

I vacuum test the fuel lines through to the fuel baffle. The fuel selector switch can leak and also the water separater/fuel filter gasket can cause problems. Be gentle with it, it will break easily.
