Ok, I tried using the search engine but it could have been buried years back. The question is: When do you peeps turn on your cooling fan? I turn mine on if I'm tooling along at above idle speeds and as I am bring the boat to the dock. I'll leave it running for at least a minute after I shut down the engine to. What are your opinions? I didn't find anything about it in the Shop Manual.

If you are referring to the "Bilge Blower Fan", it is not a cooling fan. It is designed to evacuate dangerous fumes that ate contained within the bilge area. While on plane, the air is moved out of the hull due to the vents built into the hulls. Anytime you stop and have the motor off for a bit, you should run the blower for 4 minutes. Two reasons,, to purge the dangerous air that can be explosive and to get the motor fresh air so that the motor can start easier.

Yes, I use the bilge blower occasionally when below planing speed to cool things down a bit.

I turn mine on a few minutes before starting the engines and run it all the time. I have tried leaving it off at cruising speeds but I have found If my engine compartment gets too hot I get intake sensor errors and this only happens with the blower off. My opinion just leave it on when the engines are running and a short time before and after running.

That bilge blower is for use when refueling to evacuate any gas fumes. You are supposed to run it for 5 minutes before and after refueling.
