Hi:
After running the boat for a few minutes the continuous beeping starts and doesn't stop. The shop service manual suggests the continuous beeping indicates the engines are overheating due to blocked water intakes or a ground problem with the engine temperature sensors. Both engines are running well at full power and do not feel hot to the touch after running. I have disconnected the wire to both sensors but the beeping continues.

The shop manual did not indicate how to fix the ground issue and I haven't figured out how to do it. Before I inflict myself on the electrical system any suggestions would be appreciated.

On the early boats... any "red light" on the gauge will trip the buzzer. As m.colley is alluding to... if your gauge is bad... it could be tripping the buzzer.

If your engines are only warm to the touch, and the buzzing sounds even after pulling the wire off the head... then overheating isn't the issue.

Thanks. I'll try disconnecting the gas guage and or speedometer. Hopefully that will stop the continuous beep.

On your rocker switch panel you should have a low fuel switch, if the beeping continues flip that switch and see if the beeping stops for a while. It resets the low fuel sensor that is more than likely going off due to the gas gauge reading low or empty. If resetting/flipping the switch works then you might want to check out this thread

or do a search on fuel baffle repair..
Hope this helps,

Thanks all for the suggestions. I disconnected the speedometer and that has stopped the continuous beeping. The fuel guage is either shows full or almost empty when the tank is half full.

Tomorrow I'll follow through on Martin's suggestion.
