Constant beep

95SPEEDSTER

When you try to start my 95 speedster in drive or reverse it gives a little beep. It seems like that same beep that goes on and on when I get my boat started (not beeping but a constant high pitch noise... very annoying). I want to disconnect whatever causes the indicator beep as I think it will eliminate the noise while the boat is running but I don't know where the beep comes from. Anyone know how to disconnect it?

Usually a steady beep is an indication of an over heat problem. I would diagnose the problem first. If it is the temperature sensor that's bad repair or replace that...rather then eliminate the warning device. If it is over heating...you won't need to worry about the beeping anymore...it will just seize up.

Test the sensor first put it in a pan of water at 200* it will make contact and ground itself. Use a multi meter to check it...don't get burned. If the sensor is bad than replace it. If it isn't, then the engine is over heating. That starts a new procedure. Check all the fittings and elbows for blockage.

Thankyou for the compliment. This is a great place and we all try to help each other out.
