Where to begin? i been a seadoo guy for 20 years. owned about 15 to 20 seadoos and always wanted a jet boat. Over the years i heard of horror stories about getting a seadoo boat n havn nothn but problems. Actually i think that can be true for any boat. I gotten few crappy skis over the years and figure with 2 engines and jet pumps i could end up with twice the problems. i seen something about staying away from the 96's and back? I definetly want a twin motor set up. Seems like the 720 speedsters are more available. I also see that pricing is sorta odd in my area. Like a 2002 and a 1997 are all about 4500 to 5500 depending on shape. Is this because there same axact boats so your buying on condition more then year. Thats how it is with my hayabusa, a 1999 is same price as a 06 if both are in same shape n miles. So im sorta looking at the speedster the same way. As for towing? I live like 3 miles from lake so i hoping a 98 rav 4 or my 2002 taurus can get it to and from seeing its only few miles. Im sure it can but how would it be towing with either those vehicles to places that are hour away? I tow a big double with a xpdi and a hx now and its fine with the rav, never tried with the taurus. any tips about anything is apprietated, from tubing behind it, what to watch out for, towing ect.

Also i do want a 97 speedster, thats boat i been in and love. but im wondering if a 2004 sportster is same boat. Seem indentical to me with twin 720s, but im clueless. So what seadoo boats are same as 97 speedster if any. I got money burning a hole in my pocket so i hope i can get some insight before i go buy something.... TONITE. lmao

The 96, like the one I have, doesn't have the addition rear facing seat of the 97's and above. It is also very slightly shorter. I'm not sure if there are any other differences between the models. The 720's have a reputation of being pretty bullet proof and true to form I haven't had any issues with mine.

Regarding towing, the tongue weight is only about 50 pounds, so no problem there. Gross weight with the boat and trailer is about 1300 I think. I wouldn't imagine a rav4 having any problem with it. If you have towed with you Taurus before and don't have any issues with it bottoming out at your local ramp, that will probably be fine too.

They are awesome boats and you just have to remember that even if you have issues with them, they are much cheaper to fix than more conventional inboard boats, not to mention much more fun!

I went and looked at it and it is a 2002. This boat is super clean, n im a anal person n was impressed. Both engines fired up smooth as can be. All stock other then a new engine about 100 hours ago. He got it from a older woman who over heated it. He installed new motor n never had any other issue. Prop n pump area all looks new. Been stored inside its whole life and when outside it was covered. Interior is mint mint.i think its a smokn deal, his asking price is 4650. Not sure if he will dicker. He was ready to take it to water no problem but i said lets wait till i have cash n do it all in one shot. I think its under priced concidering what i have been seeing. I been seeing 96 97 for same price but nothn clean like this sboat. But then again i been shoopn for one for only a week
