Coils failing on my 717 Rotax, 98 Sportster

Hey there gurus -

Would anybody have an idea as to why I've had two coils go bad on my 717 Rotax powered '98 Sportster?

I understand that coils are relatively durable and last a long time. I've had two fail in less than 10 hours of run time.

This is getting expensive.

I'd say you just got unlucky. The 720 coils almost never go bad. They are a very simple beast. Feed it 300 volts, and it fires when it's reversed.
