I wanted to say hi and thank the kind folks like rookie and others for their awsome post on this forum. Like the title says, I am checking out a 2002 X-20 tomorrow and I am armed with a ton of knowledge thanks to you all on this forum. I will let you know how it goes and hope to post some pictures tomorrow and sign up for the forum premium membership to access the manuals.

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!! :cheers::cheers:

Thanks you two, the price was right and for the most part she is in great condition (has sat in garage all winter so needs a good cleaning). Started right up after being layed up all winter. Took her to the river and she shot on a plan right away. To tired to post pics, left early this am and just got home. I plan on cleaning her up tomorrow and doing a Decarb of the motor as well, before placing a big part order next week. I will post the decarb method tomorrow and let you all know how it goes. Dr Honda I see you are in Pittsburgh, I got the boat from Pottstown PA and I live in Hagerstown MD.

JoeZ one of my best friends lives in Palm Harbor but dont tell anyone, he has a bayliner LOL.

Swabino,
I'm located in Hagerstown MD. Got the X-20 and decarbed the motor last Sunday. I ordered a bunch of things this week and of course this weekend is suppose to be in the 30's. Once I take care of all the maintenance to include plugs, both fluids, both sensors, fuel filter, clean VST, gas tank screen and water/fuel seperator a new sound system with be on order.

Sorry, I though i read somewhere that you were in Houston. Hey when you change the oil on the pump, how go you get the oil back in. Im shooting the oil up in the fill hole and it just keeps coming right out. What is the trick?

I figured out the oil problem. Pump came right with the oil. DUH

I wonder if you can give me a list of parts you are replacing on your x-20. Mine is the same age and besides regular fluid maintenance plugs and fuel filters Ive replaced nothing and have not had a single bit of trouble with my boat. (knocking on wood as hard as I can) Oh there was a recall on the voltage regulators that merc paid for which was great because mine caused all kinds of smoke one afternoon on the water.

I know most of the parts you list, but what is the VST, both sensors, and the gas tank screen?

Thanks and good luck with the new boat.
