Good Afternoon,

I’m trying to replace a cracked cylinder jug on a Rotax 717 and was wondering how I check if my engine has been bored out so I can get the right cylinder jug. I checked diameter with some digital calipers and got 82.5 mm. I’m wondering if this is the right way, or if it should be stamped somewhere on the engine.

Thanks!

Digital Calipers will work just fine for what you are doing. I doubt you'll find a used cylinder that is "on-size" for your needs. I'd do a complete top end if I was that far down but I'm an old two-stroke guy. :) Good Luck !
