Hi All,

Trying to check oil on my 2012 Seadoo Speedster 150 (255HP).

When using the dipstick there is no indicators on it for high / low levels. Only an indent in the dip stick. Is the bottom of the indent the min and the top of the indent the max? If so, I'm very low!

Thanks!

With the engine warm and level, you want the oil to be halfway up, or in the middle of, that indent.

Do not check while engine is running. Either run it on the hose until the motor feels warm, or take it out on the water and check after a few minutes run time. The manual does state to let it idle for 30 seconds after running higher rpms, before you check oil level.

This is funny, I thought I would check my oil on my 2012 speedster 260 hp this weekend too. My boat only has 6 hours on it but thought I would check anyway. I warmed it up then checked the oil and it looked like it did not even register on the dip stick. I also have a new yamaha vxr pwc with 3 hours on it and checked it too. It also looked like it had no oil on the dip stick. I then tried each again and touched the dip stick with my finger and there was oil but you can not tell how much as it is so clean. I contacted my buddy who is a service manager at a Ford dealership and he said it can be very difficult to tell oil levels in new engines as the oil is so clean. Therefore for the time being I guess I just have to hope the the dealerships put the right amount it :)
