In winterizing, I noticed a rubber cover for the spark plug became detached from the wire. I thought it would be a good time to put on new rubber plug covers and wires. In looking how to do, I see the cap is part 278000237 and the wires are 278002198, if I am looking correct online.

I dont get though a couple things. how does the wire then go into the rubber boot/cover? Does it snap in? I always thought they were made and molded together...

On connecting the other ends of the wires to the main box on the boat, I see both wires go into a little box...I cannot seem to attach picture. How do I take apart the wires and then how do i install. Also, it appears they are crimped on the end. When I order the wires, do they come with this crimp? Could it be as simple as pulling out and then snapping new wires in??

Finally, should I order another little box that the wires go into when I am changing out the wires?

Cut the cable tie off of the spark plug boot, un-screw the spark plug boot (counter clockwise), cut off about 1/4" of spark plug cable and replace the boot by turning the boot clockwise, just until snug, do not over tighten. Then replace the cable tie.

The spark plug wires connect to the ignition coil inside the E-box, I have had no success in replacing them as the retaining clip usually breaks. If you feel you need to replace the wires they come as an assembly with the ignition coil, part 18. Personally I have never seen the wires go bad, so unless they're damaged I wouldn't replace the wires.

So if i understand correct, there is no special stripping i need to do to the wire. Simply screwing the boot on the wire taps itself and gets the proper connection then?
