Hey guys! On my 97 challenger 787 i am trying to get my rpm to work. Does anyone know where the rpm sensor is? And how can I test it? Thank you

You need to get a copy of the shop manual. Either become a premium member here or try googling "97 challenger shop manual".

That being said, I believe it comes from the MPEM via the ignition coils

You'll need to verify this because I don't have a wiring diagram for your boat, but on a similar ski (97GSX), it comes off the MPEM, the wire colors are TA-BK, and GY.

Have you checked the small paddle wheel mounted on the ride plate to be sure it is freely spinning?

That would be the speed sensor.

Just a thought,
Try putting a volt meter on the speedo and have someone spin the paddle wheel. If no reading then the sensor/wire is probably bad. If you get a volt reading then speedo is bad.

His problem is the tach, not the speed.
