Challenger Ladder and Anchor Light

I've got 2 questions. First, on the 2 step telescoping ladder on a 2008 Challenger 180, at the point where the two pieces meet, a big "c" clip holds them together. One of mine broke, Where can I get a replacement? When I look up the part, they seem to only sell the complete ladder.

2nd question. How many male pins are coming up from the anchor light receptacle? I've only got one. I think there should be 2. The light pole actually has 3 pin holes. I think my wife broke a pin off while trying to force the light bar in.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Looks like you want part #570027100, which is about $8-9 plus shipping online (not sure what the full list price is if you buy it at a dealer).

As for the anchor light, you're suspicions are correct: there are two pins in the receptacle. That's part #204470990, and about $38 plus shipping. It's make by Perko, so you might be able to find a place that sells Perko stuff and get it cheaper that way. You might even be able to rig up a repair by finding a metal dowel at Lowe's or Home Depot that fits in the light and then cutting a piece and sticking it in the receptacle. I suspect, though that things could be worse: if the pin broke off in the rear light pole and you can't get it out, that's part #204470979 and another $54 (plus shipping). Hopefully, that's not the case, but if you don't see the pin laying in the bottom of the receptacle, where did it go? :ack:

Update: It looks like the Perko 10603B0DP is the correct receptacle. Google "Perko 10603B0DP" and you'll see a few places selling it in the $20 range.

You know, I hadn't thought about it before, but the rubber part that holds the windshield in the open position (latch) is the same thing. #8 in the picture.

Edit: I can't seem to get the picture to show larger. Let me know if you have the same issue and I'll post it somewhere else with a link.

Actually that's not the right part. You see where the number 1 points at the ladder, there is a slot in the plastic step where a heavy duty "C" clip slips in around the 1" tube. That's the part that broke, the clip. I'm hoping I don't have to replace a 250 dollar ladder for a c clip!

Thanks for helping though.

Well, as a Sea-Doo part, that ladd is about $193 plus shipping. It's made by Windline, and I believe it's model TT-3X. I see it on Amazon for $112 (http://www.amazon.com/Windline-TT-3X-Transom-Mount-Ladder/dp/B0018QKR2G).

But, there may be hope. However, I don't understand exactly what piece you are talking about. clearly, you aren't talking about the bracket that mounts the ladder to the boat. I went and looked at my ladder, and the stair tread looks like one solid piece of plastic. I can't see any separate "C" clip. If you had any hope of getting a separate replacement part, I would check directly with Windline (http://www.windline.com).

Thanks. Windline sent me new clips FOC. now I just have to put them on. They aren't that easy. I'm going to take the light off and see if there is any way to repair. I'll probably need a new one.

So I fixed the light. The 2pins actually are just held in by tension straight through the rubber holes in the base. My wife must not have had it lined up right. When they tried to force the light on, they pushed the pin out the bottom. I just cleaned the pin off and reinserted it. Thanks for all you help.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix. That's much better than having a pin broken off and stuck in the other end.
