Hi guys,

Looking at buying a 230 SE but have a couple of questions.

Firstly, does anyone have one on a trailer with a folding tongue/draw bar, if so I would appreciate if you could tell me the total length when folded. With out the folding tongue/draw bar it will not fit in the garage. Hopefully when folded it will.

Secondly, can someone tell me the height from the boat floor to the top of the windscreen.

Cheers

Standard Garage?

I don't think this boat was made to fit a standard garge. You figure at close to 23 feet long, that's gonna be longer than most are designed. With the foldup tongue, It migt be possible.

I got a double car garage and my 14 foot Challenger will just barely fit in it.

Mybe you'll get some better hits on this thread than I can give but that's a mighty big boat to put in a garage....

:agree:

the boat is 23'... and even with a folding trailer... you will be looking at 24' to 25'. Also... I don't have a real measurement, but when I'm at the local dealer... the bigger boats are sitting 9' to 10' tall on the trailers.

When it comes down to it... unless you have a garage set up for an RV, or just have a barn... it's not going to fit in a regular home garage.

OK... I was courious... here is the spec sheet on it:

You are looking 23.6' (7.2m) long, and 7.2' (3.15m) tall, and 8.5' (2.67m) wide. So... add a couple feet to the length and hight for a folding trailer, and I was about right. Most home garage doors are only 7' tall, and 8' wide.

So... it kind of falls into the category of... if you have to ask... it ain't going to fit. (not to sound like a jack off)

Now... my home garage is longer than most... but the 14.5' boat doesn't leave much room to work around it when it's parked inside.

Hey bud, if you have the "width" cleared, you can compensate for the height. Not sure on new model trailers, but the bolt pattern was 5X4.50...which is a "small" chevy pattern. Get yourself a few "donuts", and that will lower that puppy.

Not low enough...

Yeah, you can drop it a few inches but I know I can touch the top of my garage door when it's up. I guess it is about 7 to 7.5 feet. When I went to the boat show last, it seems these 21 and bigger boats are about 12' or so high.

I just don't think these size boats are made for a garage. You can look into one of those metal ones or build a modified wood frame for it.

I can say too, pulling the boat in and out of such a tight fit, you will eventually scratch somthing. I caught my trailer on the side of my bench to my radial arm saw.........

The garage was built to take a large boat, it is 25ft long, door is 9.25ft wide x 9ft high.

I know that the new Yamaha 240/242 will fit, just wanting to no if the 230 would as they seem to be available at a better price.

Cheers
