Has anyone replaced their starter on one of the 155 engines? I just ordered two of the venom branded starters. Boat starts and runs fine... starboard motor is just a little slow to turn on. New batteries and cables so I am thinking I will start here.

I Just bought a 2010 210 challenger and it had a slow starting starboard engine. I’m lucky I didn’t burn the boat down before I found the issue. Attached is the post the power wire connected to. I actually pulled the port starter off first because I was able to lean in and see that side. Starboard starter was by feel only, there is no way to see the starter between the two engines. I guess you could take the exhaust manifold off to get better access but I was able to get it swapped without taking it off. It was tough but manageable.

I ordered through a local dealer thinking I would get oem but it was an aftermarket starter. I don’t remember the brand name but I paid $150. I could have saved some money buying online but It works fine and they had it the next day so I can’t complain about that. Always good to build a relationship with a local dealer too!

I realize that this thread is almost a year old but I'm wondering if there are tips or tricks that would help - I'm changing out the starboard starter this week as the engine is very slow to start and is generating heat/electrical resistance in the power supply line. Thanks guys!
