How does the Poppy compare to the snap in covers? Obviously it seems more weather proof, but how long does the install take?

The poppy cover will protect more of your boat than the snap in covers. I still have the original cover (like the poppy) and it takes me just a couple of minutes to put the cover on. It's probably just as quick, if not quicker than the snap in cover. The additional gelcoat protection it offers is well worth the time and money.

With one person in the boat and the other on the outside it takes about 90 seconds to install the Poppy cover. There are no clips, bungee cords or snaps to mess with. Just one place to tighten the cover and your done. It also comes with two poles to raise the cover so water doesn't pool on the cover. Well worth the money and trailerable at highway speeds. Like I said before, "your money can't buy a better boat cover."

I am so torn between the Poppy and the OEM....I love the OEM buy feel I might be missing on some benefits of the Poppy

A few differences between the 2 from what I can see:

Stock cover has zippered rear access panel, Poppy does not.
Poppy has better reinforcement on the cleat openings compared to stock.
I believe the ratchet strap are slightly different, but comparable.

Comes down to features you want and price I guess.

This thread seems to be about the trailering cover, not the mooring covers. I like mine on my 2009 180SE, however the Poppy one looks comparable - the zipper to access the boat from the back I find handy.

It is the mooring cover with the snaps that I would like to find a quicker method to apply - also when with mooring cover on and moored at the wet slip during rain storms some water runs down the windshield and through the crack between the windshield base and the snapped in bow cover and into the boat - not a big deal but it would be better if all remained dry inside. Perhaps a little additional cover spanning the crack attached to the windshield with suction cups?? Anyone found a solution to this? Many boats have mooring covers that cover all including the windshield but not this one from BRP- does anyone sell one such that will snap onto this boat?
