I replaced my 787 with a newer motor. I bought a new rotary valve. I am not sure what degree it is supposed to be timed at. I have read on some sites 147 and on others at 130. Also what degree is the actual wheel itself supposed to be for this motor? The wheel I have is 160 degrees. Is this the right one to be using? Thanks in advance!

You need a 157 degree RV. Seadoo didn't make a 160... so make sure it't not an aftermarket wheel.

You will time your RV to 147/65.

ok so I have the correct wheel. That's a start. I know how to find the 147 but not sure how to make sure its at 65. When the valve is out of adjustment what kind of symptoms can you have? I was getting popping out of the rear cylinder and not able to get up to speed. Any other ideas of things I could check?

You can flip RV to get w/in tooth of ideal.

that one helps alot but where does the 65 come from out of the 147/65? How do i time that number?

After you make the 147 mark with the zero of degree wheel at the bottom of the AMG port you re zero at the TOP of the MAG port and mark the 65.
RV edges fall with in those two marks.
