Challenger 1800 - Has anyone added gauges to their cluster?

Hello,

I'm hoping to redesign the instrument cluster on my 03 challenger 1800 and am wondering if anyone has done this before? Visually looking at it, it seems as though there would be enough room for the 3'" speed, and then 4 - 2" gauges (voltmeter, tach, fuel and depth). I've looked around and no one has seemed to do this so far. I'd more then likely get a thin piece of steel machined for the pieces, but not sure if I would have enough room in the back for clearance, and/if the cluster piece comes out easily.

Any help or insight would be great. Thanks

Josh

So.... It's pretty hard to find a 2" replacement tachometer gauge, especially in the red/black/white color scheme that I'm looking for - who'd of thought.

Project time. I'm thinking about cutting out the insert around the gauges and getting a replacement piece cut out of a thin steel. I will then go ahead and get 5 gauges - 3" tach, 3" speedo, 2" fuel, 2" volt, and 2" depth. In the order of 2,3,depth,3,2 and although it will be a close fit, it should work.

Any reasons that this shouldn't work?

Thank you

I'm going to go with 2 - 3" and 2 - 2".

Aside from the fuel, tach and speed, what should my 4th one be? Voltmeter? Any suggestions as to what should be my 4th? Input away gents/ ladies...
