challenger 1800 gas tank bumpers what for

Anybody know why 1997 challenger 1800 has 2 rubber bumpers under gas tank they actually put a lot of weight on a small area the of tank and lift the tank from its isolator pads. probably a simple answerView attachment 35204View attachment 35204 THANKS

anybody want to take a guess? on the microfiche it seems to show only one on right side. but i have two. and its the one on the companion side(left port) that seems to be creating interference

Those look like they came from the factory. Was the tank sitting in there fine before?

Yes they are Factory on the Bombardier website they appear to list one on the right hand side just it kind of props a tank up on a weird angle off the rubber pads the four strips anyway he lasted 20 years like that if I get 5 more I'll be happy
