Could anyone who has a Challenger 1800 like mine chime in.
I would like to know if the back end of their hull lines up with the very rear of the bunks?

As shown in my attached pictures, the back end of the hull is about 3 inches forward of the back of the bunks.\

The reason I am asking is that I am having trouble getting the bow hook to line up with the center of the bow roller (yes, I did try adjusting the bunks to no avail).

Thanks Guys

+1 for Lou! If that tongue weight is too low it can get REALLY dangerous in a hurry, if it's too high, it makes life difficult and puts too much load on the tow vehicle.

For what it's worth, I checked this morning on my way out for work, looks like our 1800 sits about 1-2" forward on the bunks (ie- there is that much bunk sticking out behind the transom). HOWEVER, the bunks can be mounted anywhere on the trailer, the length of the bunks could be different, etc etc. weight on the tongue and good boat support are the key issues.

The important thing is to have the proper tongue weight, about 50-60#.

Lou

that`s to light for a jet boat this size Lou. 10-15% of whatever the total weight of trailer and boat are.

I`m somewhere at 200-225 lbs on the tongue weight. and the boat rests at the end of the bunks, the trailer tongue is pretty short compared to other trailers and it tows perfectly...

I pull my 2000 Challenger 1800 right up to the bow eyelet and I feel that I have too little weight on the tongue. I know it's supposed to be 10% - 15% of the boats weight and this is a heavy boat! I'd expect 150 pounds at the tongue, but I'd be shocked if it's more than 30 pounds.

I was surprised that the fuel tank is so far behind the wheels. But it is what it is. I keep the tank full all the time. Really, all I can do to make the tongue weight higher is store stuff in the front storage areas.

Yep...Is the amber flashing light on the roof a self leveling tool??

Just kidding Brotha!!

My tongue weight is a little heavy. I plan on moving the axle a little forward when I get time since my trailer is really long.
