Challenger 1800 air intake dripping oil

This past weekend we took the boat out on the Colorado for the first trip of the season. During cleaning I noticed more oil than usual had dripped from the air intake box. I have always had a little drippage from the box and attributed it to the crank case vent (CCV) hose being tied into it. Has anyone installed a CCV filter on the 3/4" line between the air intake and engine? Should I open the box and clean it?

My ATV has a little inline filter on the CCV hose that seems to help minimize the amount of oil that ends up in the air-box and I figured that the same type of filter only bigger would work well to help keep oil out of the intake.

I agree it is pricey, I couldn't locate it cheaper anywhere else, even on ebay.

I have read other posts that state the catch system is a god thing to have.

Soo,,, based on your issue and what you found on-line, I think you are on the right path...
