Hey who has been in both 180 and a 210. We started out in a 150 cute fun but too small. We like the 180 but thinking about the 210 with the 255 engine. Thought the 210 might be under powered but nice size boat...

Just updated from a 01 1800 Challenger (240hp) to a 210 430hp. Did it mainly for the extra room. The performance with the twin 215's is about the same as the old boat. Not quite as nimble and haven't been able to do a full 360 yet. I haven't been in the single 255, but your going to see about 45 as the top speed, and the acceleration will be less.

Now let me say that I don't know why, but in the 210, I drive much slower. I have no idea why. But now I cruise around, say 25 or 30 mph, where in the 1800 I was always going 40+ Maybe it's the size of the boat, maybe age has finally caught up. But now we head out and I just don't feel the need to run at 3/4 to wot most of the time.

Of course over the forth with just the guys, I did burn a half tank of fuel in about an hour. :)

I see others with bigger boats cruising slower. i think the biggest reason there is a big difference between 6 GPH and 18 GPH,

Nah, that's isn't it. The Mercury would suck the gas down fast to, with only a couple months of boat use, I have no issue filling the tank to have fun.

I think for me it's the size difference. Like taking the Cadillac for a cruise, vs ripping it up in a little 2 seat sportster. The 210 is actually a little faster than the 1800 was, but I drive around the lake at a leisurely pace now. Go figure..

I can relate. I came from a '99 Sportster 1800. Love the additional space, and the features available on the 210 that I couldn't get on other size SeaDoo boats.

Agree on the speeds, although I do pull some 180s, usually at the end of the day. I've never been one to goo WOT the whole day, but on the 210 I'm fine setting the cruise control at 32MPH and just cruising...

I usually cruise at 25 - 30 mph, with the occasional speed run every now and again............ya know....to burn the carbon off.......... We love our 210.
