Challenger 180 tachometer problem

Something strange happened to my 2005 Challenger 180 this season. When I brought the boat home from winter storage everything was working properly and it started right away (on trailer). I did the annual service (oil, filter, spark plug, charged the battery and so on). However, once in the lake nothing happened when I pressed the start button, it was completely dead. I tried disconnecting and connecting the battery a couple of times and suddenly it came back to life. However, now the tachometer and the beeper/buzzer doesn't work anymore. Tacho needle is just bouncing around. (Check the YouTube link below). Anyone now to troubleshoot this problem? I tried checking for error codes using Candoo pro but nothing came up besides the P0600 code, but that is said to be caused by Candoo pro itself. Any help is greatly appreciated.

who said p0600 is candoo related?
check code fault on this site, internet or on the candoo site.
just had a very quick look, maybe can comm link, thats why tach isnt working.

This is the Candoo Pro explanation of the error code:

"CAN communication problem detected by EMS or MPEM, missed a packet (If this is a SkiDoo SDI with E-RAVE it is blown fuse, damaged wires, disconnected connector on E-RAVE actuator).
This is sometimes caused by the diagnostic system, because we are checking of 500k on the 250k bus. Ignore unless your mpem is truly having issues communinicating with the ECU."

Perhaps you are right, in this case the code could be valid. But how do I know if my "mpem is truly having issues communicating with the ECU"?
Is mpem the fuse box thing that is located by your right leg when you are in the driver seat? :-)

By the way, I removed the the beeper today, connected it to 12V and it sure works LOUD and clear.

I would ask the question on the candoo forum, siemens ecu threads.
maybe connection or fuse? search for the hi can link (i think)

i would go with the can comm route and investigate connections
