Can anyone recommend an anchor to me? We would like to go the the local sand bars which are in about 3-4' water. I see some have one anchor some have two. Just trying to not look like a total newb.

We have had great luck with our slip ring anchor on our 21' 210... Light weight and grab very well when a boater knows how to set one, you can't just toss them overboard and expect them to hold I have seen this many times. We use the slip ring anchor on the bow of our boat for the holding power. You will also want an anchor chain between your anchor and rope running to the boat. I have used an anchor with and without chain, the added weight of a chain makes the anchor much easier to set. If need be a mushroom anchor to hold the rear in place, mushroom anchors seem a tad worthless but works ok as a secondary anchor on the rear of our boat. Hope this helps.

Danforth Anchors are the best. Second best would be the Cooper. The Cooper is plastic and easier to carry. In either case, get 3 foot of plastic coated chain. This keeps the nose down and helps the anchor stay dug in.

Have a Danforth (13lb I think) work well to hold the boat. Had to cut about an inch of each side of the bar to fit in the hull compartment- I used plasti-dip to coat the ends after I cut them just in case it ever hits the hull by accident.

Was just out on the lake with a group of people. I wasn't sure of the sand we'd be in and I didn't want to have my boat tossed by the waves onto the shore and the bottom getting damaged by rocks. I do have a rubberized Danforth anchor on the boat, but was struggling with it being able to hold without pushing my boat towards shore, since it barely holds in deeper water. I brought my box anchor with me, connected to a bungie style rope, that I would attach to the front of the boat's trailer winch point. That box anchor was able to hold my boat in place and as the waves started getting stronger, the anchor held tight and kept pulling my boat back out. Never had to worry about my boat bottoming out or drifting. I also used a Slide Anchor Shore Spike, with a Danik Hook, and had the other end attached it to the back of the boat. This was done just to pull the boat towards shore when loading people in and to ensure the boat stayed still and not bump into other boats.

Depending upon conditions, wouldn't recommend anchoring at 2 points, but I was at a lake, so not much worry there. At the ocean, the box anchor would hold up really well. I actually got these anchors from the previous owner, who loved to beach the boat all the time. He absolutely loved this anchor and can't disagree. Really put my mind at ease knowing my boat wouldn't bottom out or drift, especially while watching mastercraft boats drifting and owners resorting to using their prop to help keep the boat still.
