I have a 97 speedster that I'm replacing carbon seals wear ring and thru hull fitting. and every year I get the same thing not sure what my problem is. I replaced the carbon seals the past two years and every start of the season I have bad cavitation. So I'm thinking of re sealing the ride plate also now. Here's my question do I have to take off the bottom and top piece? Or just remove the bottom with some heat and a pry bar.
