My carpet stinks from always putting the boat away with the carpet damp. Do most of you take the carpet out every time, or does your's stink, too?

Carpet smell

I always let mine dry out for a few days in the garage before I throw the top on if it has gotten wet. So far so good. No smells.

The first time mine got really wet I left it in there thinking it would dry out from the warm weather. 2 days later it was still soaking wet. So much so that when I pulled it out it started pouring out a stream of water.

I always pull it out now after a day of boating. I hang it over some lawn chairs and its usually dry in a few hours.

No smells so far :coolgleam:

This is the main reason I bought Hydroturf instead of the carpet. It doesn't absorb any water so the boat takes no time at all to dry out.

Gerapau, if you don't mind, how much did the hydroturf run you for your speedster? I imagine it would be similar for my challenger...

Check out your own prices at www.hydroturf.com. I think yours will be about $300. Also, I think you can get a 15% discount if you mention that you are a member of seadoosportboats.com (of course you have to become a member first).

My carpet stinks too. I just come home from work and leave my garage door open to let the bad stinch out. I might be buying hydroturf too. But then i will have lots of holes to patch from the rivets.
